Terms and Conditions

These terms govern the use of the website experimenters.app and the lab at circuits.experimenters.app (together, "Experimenters").

Who we are

Experimenters is run by Viktor Grigorev, a self-employed developer (autónomo) in Spain. In these terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean Viktor Grigorev.

The service

Experimenters is a laboratory for electrical circuits in the browser: you assemble circuits from instruments and components, and the lab simulates them. The Labs pages of the site pair the lab with worksheets for lessons.

Experimenters is free. Anyone can use the lab without an account. A free account adds opening and saving circuit files.

The simulation is a model

The lab calculates circuits with a mathematical model. Its results serve learning and can differ from what real components and instruments do. Do not rely on them to design, build or repair real equipment or to decide whether something is safe. Real electricity can injure and kill: work with mains voltage, batteries and real circuits only under the safety rules that apply to them and, for pupils, under the supervision of a teacher or another responsible adult.

Accounts

  • You accept these terms when you create an account; the sign-in window asks you to.
  • You can create an account from the age of 14. For a child under 14, a parent or guardian creates the account, accepts these terms on the child's behalf and is responsible for its use.
  • An account belongs to one email address. Anyone who can read that mailbox can sign in, so keep it secure.
  • You can delete your account at any time from the account window in the lab.
  • We may suspend or delete an account that breaks these terms, telling you by email unless the law or the security of the service prevents it.

Using Experimenters

You may use Experimenters for learning, teaching and your own projects. You may not:

  • disrupt the service, overload it with automated requests, or get around its limits on sign-in codes and requests;
  • try to access other people's accounts, or test the security of the service without our written permission;
  • copy the lab's software, host it elsewhere or present it as your own;
  • use Experimenters for anything unlawful.

Your circuits

Circuits you build are yours. The lab saves them as files on your device, and we do not receive them.

If you send us ideas or suggestions, we may use them to improve Experimenters without owing you anything for them.

Our content

The software, 3D models, texts, worksheets, images and logos of Experimenters belong to us or to their licensors. We use components of other authors under their own licenses.

Teachers and pupils may show the lab and the Labs worksheets in lessons, print the worksheets and hand them out to pupils, as long as it is not done for profit and Experimenters is named as the source. Any other copying or distribution needs our written permission.

Availability

We keep Experimenters running and improve it, but we cannot promise that it is always available or free of errors. We may change, add or remove features. If we decide to shut Experimenters down, we will tell account holders by email at least 30 days in advance.

Liability

We are liable without limitation for damage we cause intentionally or through gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, and wherever the law does not allow liability to be limited. Your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected.

Beyond that, we are not liable for results of the simulation used outside learning (see "The simulation is a model") or for the loss of circuit files kept on your device.

Changes to these terms

When these terms change, we publish the new version on this page with a new effective date. We tell account holders about changes that affect them by email before they take effect. If you do not agree with the new version, you can delete your account; using Experimenters after the effective date means that you accept it.

Law and disputes

These terms are governed by Spanish law. If you are a consumer, this does not take away the protection of the mandatory law of the country where you live, and you can take a dispute to the courts of your place of residence.
